Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis, the fourth player in school history to account for 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns in a single season, is staying in school for his senior year. Travis made the announcement Monday, the same day hundreds of players across the nation entered the NCAA transfer portal or declared for the NFL draft. Travis chose a different path and could be an early favorite in next year's Heisman Trophy race. "So many memories have been made on this field and we're not done yet," Travis said in a highlight video posted on social media. “See y'all in 2023."

A fourth-year junior, Travis has 22 touchdown passes to go along with seven rushing scores, one receiving and just four interceptions. He has led the 13th-ranked Seminoles (9-3) to five consecutive wins as they prepare to play Oklahoma (6-6) in the Cheez-It Bowl on Dec. 29 in Orlando. Travis joined FSU's three Heisman Trophy winners - Charlie Ward in 1993, Chris Weinke in 2000 and Jameis Winston in 2013 - to account for 3,000 yards and 30 TDs in a season. He is one of six QBs in Power Five conferences with at least 20 TD passes and four or fewer interceptions. - AP College Football

Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has entered the transfer portal after an up-and-down two seasons as the starter, the school confirmed Monday. Uiagalelei was replaced after two series in Saturday’s 39-10 win over North Carolina in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship, and coach Dabo Swinney already has announced freshman Cade Klubnik will start in the Orange Bowl against Tennessee. The 10th-ranked Tigers (11-2) started 8-0, but Uiagalelei struggled in the Oct. 22 game against Syracuse and was benched in the second half. Klubnik led a fourth-quarter comeback in a 27-21 win.

Clemson’s offense was stagnant in a 35-14 loss at Notre Dame, and Uiagalelei was just 8-of-29 passing in a 31-30 loss to South Carolina. Klubnik took over after the Tigers went three-and-out on their first two possessions against North Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Uiagalelei was one of the top recruits in the country out of St. John Bosco High in Bellflower, California. Over 35 games in three seasons for Clemson, he threw for 5,681 yards and 36 touchdowns with a 59.8% completion rate and 17 interceptions. - AP College Football

The Tigers have set a high bar by winning national championships, so as much as they will enjoy getting back atop the ACC mountain there will be plenty of talk over whether Swinney cost his team a chance at a spot in the College Football Playoff by not turning to Cade Klubnik at quarterback earlier in the season. Auburn offensive lineman Keiondre Jones plans to enter the transfer portal but isn't ruling out a return to the Plains. Jones announced Thursday on his social media accounts that he intends to test the transfer waters after the Tigers' coaching change, adding that Auburn will remain an option for him as he determines where he wants to spend his final two seasons of eligibility. Jones has appeared in 36 games during his Auburn career, making 22 starts along the offensive line. That included two starts this season, against Penn State in Week 3 and against Alabama in the season finale last weekend. A former four-star recruit out of LaGrange, Ga., Jones' decision comes a day after new Auburn coach Hugh Freeze let go of several Auburn assistants, including offensive line coach Will Friend. - Birmingham News
